What is REAL Self-Care?:  Why You Need to Take Care of Your Self

Do you let Self-Care take the backseat?  If so, it’s time to change things up!

In my last blog, I talked about your Self, and how you always have an internal support and guidance system available to help you.

But in order for that system to work, you need to care for it!  Because when we don’t take care of our Selves, then our brains, bodies, and emotions start falling apart.  And no one is happy, fulfilled, or successful when that happens.

That’s why I created the FREE Self-Care Guide with Daily Checklist.  Have you downloaded it yet?  If so, then you know I talk about how to take care of your Self, every day, throughout the day, in order to make your days better.  Because our lives are made up of moments and days, and we all want happy, fulfilled, and successful lives, right?

Of course, our definitions of happy, fulfilled, and successful lives may be different.  As a person who’s ill all the time, I aim for getting through the day with as much joy and fulfillment as possible.  This may include doing stretches to relieve pain, showering to get refreshed, and working on my website to try to help others.  For someone else, happiness and success may be working a full-time corporate job and coming home to a loving family.  For someone else, it may be volunteering and helping the community.  There are endless possibilities.

No matter what makes you happy and fulfilled, though, none of it would be possible without Self-Care.

And Self-Care is not necessarily what people think it is.  Self-Care isn’t just massages, manicures, and pedicures.  Rather, it’s taking care of that higher power that dwells within you.  It’s feeding your heart and soul so that you feel calmer, more relaxed, and more empowered.  It centers you so that you can deal with life’s stresses without getting as anxious, angry, or overwhelmed.

So I hope you try the strategies in the Self-Care Guide with Daily Checklist.  I want your Gut GuideTM to be strong so that when you get quiet and tune into it, you’ll hear the answers that you need to hear.  And I want you to feel more peace and freedom as much as possible.

Please, show yourself Love, and let it flow into your life!

Let me know in the comments below: what are you doing to take care of your Self?  Is it easy to add your Self-Care into your life, or is it difficult?  Have you seen positive results?  Are you planning on integrating Self-Care into your life?  If so, what are you planning to do?

Your answers will keep you inspired to take action to care for yourself, and you’ll inspire other people as well!  Remember, we’re in this together, so let’s support each other and be the best we can be 🙂

Looking forward to hearing from you!

All my love and hugs!

Steph

Ps. Who do you know who could use some Self-Care in their lives?  Pass this on to them and help inspire them to change their lives!
